It's a Girl!!!!

Aaaahhhh, the thrill of finding out the gender of the baby you are expecting...... There is not much that beats that!!!
We found out that our second little Angel will be a girl. It was such good news. Although it would have been just as good news if it was a boy - we did not care either way. I mean, if you want a specific gender, then rather adopt because a 50% chance is not a very high one.
So, naturally there was a layout to follow shortly on the heels of the good news.....

Finally!!!

My daughter FINALLY lost her first tooth and I lost my MOJO!!!!!
This layout is fairly simple, but it took me forever to finish. At the moment there is a photo and some paper lying on my desk waiting to be scrapped. Its been lying here for about a week now. The reason why I'm not starting is because I'm not sure if the paper range is exactly suited to the photo.... Its not like it will look bad together or anything like that. So I could just do it, but I don't. I think I need my mojo back.....
PS: If you are reading this and you like my work please follow my blog by clicking on the 'join this site' button on the right hand side. I get a lot of visitors to my blog but no one is following me. So if I'm just wasting my time here, then at least I will know and I can stop....

You hold the key to my heart

This is by far my favorite layout I've ever done. I love the photo (Thanks Annelize Kraounakis from Picture Perfect Centurion). It captures my Angel's essence so perfectly. Her outer beauty is a reflection of her inner beauty and softness. Its such a blessing to be called her Mommy.

LIFE'S LITTLE INSTRUCTIONS

Sing in the shower.
Treat everyone you meet like you want to be treated.
Watch a sunrise at least once a year.
Leave the toilet seat in the down position.
Never refuse homemade brownies.
Strive for excellence, not perfection.
Plant a tree on your birthday.
Learn 3 clean jokes.
Return borrowed vehicles with the gas tank full.
Compliment 3 people every day.
Never waste an opportunity to tell someone you love them.
Leave everything a little better than you found it.
Keep it simple.
Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures.
Become the most positive and enthusiastic person you know.
Floss your teeth.
Ask for a raise when you think you've earned it.
Overtip breakfast waitresses.
Be forgiving of yourself and others.
Say, "Thank you" a lot.
Say, "Please" a lot.
Avoid negative people.
Buy whatever kids are selling on card tables in their front yards.
Wear polished shoes.
Remember other people's birthdays.
Commit yourself to constant improvement.
Carry jumper cables in your truck.
Have a firm handshake.
Send lots of Valentine cards.
Sign them, "Someone who thinks you're terrific."
Look people in the eye.
Be the first to say hello.
Use the good silver.
Return all things you borrow.
Make new friends, but cherish the old ones.
Keep a few secrets.
Sing in a choir.
Plant flowers every spring.
Have a dog. <Or cat :)>
Always accept an outstretched hand.
Stop blaming others.
Take responsibility for every area of your life.
Wave at kids on school busses.
Be there when people need you.
Feed a stranger's expired parking meter.
Don't expect life to be fair.
Never underestimate the power of love.
Drink champagne for no reason at all.
Live your life as an exclamation, not an explanation.
Don't be afraid to say, "I made a mistake."
Don't be afraid to say, "I don't know."
Compliment even small improvements.
Keep your promises no matter what.
Marry for love.
Rekindle old friendships.
Count your blessings.
Call your mother.

The TOUGHEST one yet

I FINALLY have something to post. Thanks to the pressure from the "Made With Love (and paper)" project that I had to finish (I was late though)

I wanted to scrap this momentous event for quite some time now. My husband has been doing some real challenging cycling races and I needed to start doing some pages on the Daddy too (shame)

So this is what I came up with for the challenge. (We had to do a masculine project using metal, ink and distressing)

And while I was at it, I did the fathersday card as well.

Njoy :D

Class of 2010

Apart from having trouble connecting to the internet, I also suffered from a very serious case of scrappers-block. I had a page sitting on my desk for the better part of THREE weeks (!!!), and I just could not finish it. It was the most difficult page I had ever done (its even difficult to write something about it!!!). No matter what I did, it just never looked quite right. Eventually I realised that I had to just put it together the best I can and move on. There was NOTHING happening in my craft room because of that and this was NOT good for my moral...
So I pushed on and put the page together as best I can and guess what - I did not like the final product very much.... But I'm going to share it anyway :)
The layout is about my daughter's graduation ceremony & play at the end of the last year at kindergarten. She was one of the angels...

Merke Gereed Gaan!!! (Ready Steady Go!!!)

What a fun page to do!

My princess had her first athletics competition. The small ones run 60m. She was a little disappointed that she did not win, but I told her that princesses are usually not very fast - and that was good enough for her :D

It was the first time I ever used Echo Park papers. Its been sitting on my shelf where its been forgotten of for a while. I discovered it while looking through my stash for something that would go with this photo.
It was such a pleasant surprise to find this beautiful stack of goodies that was perfect for what I wanted to do.
It's easy doing pages with such beautiful colours and quality papers...
